I have been to several websites, but I have not found one that specifies the best, commercially available tube grow light. I have 2 gro lux from sylvania. I don’t know if they are the best I can get. My price range is up to . Should I use 2 gro lux or mix and match then? Typically doing jiffy seedlings 8 weeks before last frost for transplant in the garden.

You don’t have to spend big bucks to get results from light gardening. In a two-light fixture, use one warm tube and one cool tube and you will get the full spectrum you need for seedlings and other plants. BTW, when starting seedlings indoors, brush the tops of the emerged plants once a day, (or set a nearby fan on low), to create ‘environmental conditioning’. You will have healthier transplants that transition to the outdoors more quickly.
i did this for many years. just use 2 regular tube fluorescent bulbs and adjust them so they stay and inch or so above the growing plants. you will have to leave them on for about 16 hours a day. always worked for me.
